Send Something Good Reveal!

When I first joined the Send Something Good exchange I was super excited! And when I started shopping for my person (cough kate cough) it became even more fun! The only downside was I was so excited to pack up everything and send it that I didn't take any pictures, fail. But when I got my package from the lovely Megan I fortunately did remember to take pictures. While the shopping and exchanging was fun, my favorite part of this exchange was getting to know theses lovely ladies! I didn't take a picture of it but my favorite thing I received from Megan was the letter she wrote. It was so sweet and lovely, and I hope we all stay in contact! Some of my other items I received were:
Hanging on my wall
How cute is this necklace!
She knew I loved traveling so sent me some travel items from Utah
Some yummy candies from BYU
I've used this so many times! Great notebook

My Minnetonka Story

I am so excited right now because I get to be on the Minnetonka blog! They had a contest where you sent in a picture of you and your favorite story of you in your Minnetonkas and you could win a pair of them and a change to be showcased on their blog. I've loved the Minnetonka brand for years and I figured why not try, at least they would know how much I love the brand, but they picked my story! I'm so excited! My story is going to be on the blog today it's http://www.minnetonkamoccasin.com/blog/ check it out. My story I shared was from when I got to go to LA last year. Such a great experience and I'm glad I got to share it.

Mounted Dragon DIY

I was walking around the craft store and thought why not?
So I bought some supplies and make this little guy. great for
a kids project, or if you're just a kid at heart.
Supplies: Small Plaque, Any color paint you want, any type of animal
you want to mount, a paint bush, scissors, and something to use to
mount your animal, I used a hot glue gun.
          1. Paint your plaque. 2. While the plaque is drying decide how much
of your animal you want to be attached and cut it apart in a straight
line. Inside mine were beads, but I removed those and used stuffing
because the beads made the dragon too wobbly. I also liked the look
when I added his wings behind so I used those as well.
           3. Use either glue or nails, if it's a hard plastic, to mount your animal.
A cute addition to any whimsical room. Have Fun!

One of my favorites

Kate Middleton is one of my favorite ladies with both her style and the way she carries herself and when I saw these dresses I couldn't help but write about it. A few weeks after their one year anniversary, yes I was one of those who woke up early to watch it, and Kate has shows such amazing style. On May 8th in London both William and Kate showed up at an event that William was reportedly giving a speech at. A few days later William and Kate attended another event in which Kate stole the show with her amazing teal Jenny Packham dress and William with a witty speech in which he spoke about his excitement for the Olympics in England and joked about his athleticism, or lack thereof. But back to the fashion side of it, seriously how amazing are these dresses?

She's also showing another reason I love her, notice, she's wearing the same pair of shoes!

How to resize a shirt

One of my goals for this summer is to learn how to use my sewing machine better. The first attempt of the summer has been to resize a t-shirt I got from a thrift store. I loved the print but the shirt was too big for me.
At first I just started cutting and hoped for the best, needless to say that didn't work out so well. But thankfully you can sew basically anything back together. This is what I did that worked, and it turned out to be super simple.
First cut off the sleeves. Going along the seam is the easiest way to make sure you don't cut more than you want to.
Next, we all have that one tank top that fits which is why we wear it too often. Turn the shirt you're fixing inside out and put your tank top over the shirt, outline it and sew. Remember, don't sew your arm! just sew up to them.
This way is easier than what I tried at first which was to sew in a little from every side. Also this way you have a template to go by.
Tada! I think I've caught the fever. Now every shirt I look at I think how can I redo this?
