February Goals - 10 in 30

It's February, and time to make new goals! Last month's goals went pretty well, let's see what is in store for this month.
  1. Drink more water, seriously it's so bad. There are days where I think back and I'm not sure if I drank any water, I know, super bad.
  2. Send out 3 postcards. I love snail mail! With all the bills and not fun items we receive in the mail, isn't it so much fun when you get an actual fun piece of mail!?
  3. Possibly buy a new computer? I love the computer I have now, but the poor thing is so old. I need to do more research, but I'm pretty sure I want to buy a Mac.
  4. Plan one weekend, and get it confirmed off, so that I can take a weekend getaway. Not that the weekend necessarily has to be this month, but I need a weekend to look forward to before July or August when I get a week off.
  5. Eat more superfoods! With the weather changing back and forth, everyone keeps getting sick recently. Superfoods to the rescue.
  6. Have my nails painted. I love the look of painted nails. I think it adds just that little something extra to any outfit. I tend to chip my nails all the time, therefore they rarely stay painted. I just need to spend some time and keep them nice.
  7. Read half of a book. I would say read one book, but more realistically I will read half of the book.
  8. Do more research about which blogging platform I want to blog from. I'm thinking squarespace but I need to do more research about how I wouldn't lose my posts, and what would happen to my .com.
  9.  Get my hair cut. I really need to, I have this fear of having them cut it too short again, but I know the reality of cutting your hair helps it grow faster.
  10. Make Valentine's Day cookies! There are so many different goodies that happen when Valentine's Day does.
Did you miss last months goals, check out January's 10 in 30!

January 10 in 30 Finale

It's February of 2016. I'll stop being so astonished very soon, I promise! Let's see how the first month went...
1// Stretch. I'm bringing this one over from last month. There are so many studies that show how beneficial stretching is to your health, and I want to be healthy.
✔️ I've done pretty well this month being consistent with my stretching. Have I done it every day, no, but I have been exponentially better than months past.
2// Learn how to use my wall calendar more effectively than I do now. It's both functional and a piece of art, now I need to learn how to utilize the functionality better.
✔️ I bought a new Rifle Paper Co. calendar for my personal use and one for my bills. I'm not a big fan of auto pay, but I also don't want to feel like I have to keep in my brain when every bill is due.
3// Start planning my travels. There are so many possibilities that come with a new year. I will not start singing Rent, but I do know how many minutes are in a year from that song. I want as large of a portion as I can budget of those minutes to be spent traveling.
✔️ I'm getting there. I've narrowed it down to two possible months I can go. I'm going to need to find a weekend to go somewhere though, I'm not going to make it half way through the year without travel!
4// Focus on the larger picture as well as the day to day. It's easy to become consumed by the day to day monotony of life, this year I want to make sure I'm enjoying each day and also focus on the months and years from now.
✔️ I'm actually going to give this one a check. This month I've read more, gotten out of my house more, and found a place that I can sit and focus. All of those combined equal a check in my book! Now I just have to keep the momentum going.
5// Find and read a travel book. Maybe it will be how to travel smarter, maybe it will just be inspiring, either way I would like to learn more about my travel possibilities.
...And my streak is over. I was doing so well with all my goals. What's your favorite travel book that I should read?
6// Be smarter with my money. If I want to travel and do all these things in 2016 I have to make sure I'm spending my money wisely.
✔️ I was much more money conscious this month. I did spend some money a few days ago to go to an outside concert. All things in moderation!
7// Rearrange my home. When I was little and I wanted something "new" I would change how my room looked, or create something. It's a simple way that I can keep my mind fresh and help save money.
I really need to figure out what to do with the area where the Christmas tree was, it looks sad right now.
8// Flowers! If I stop eating out so much and purchase food from the grocery store, I will be saving money. Maybe some of that money can go towards fresh flowers to keep in the house!
✔️I always want to have flowers in my home. Sometimes it happens, sometimes I forget and get groceries and leave. Must remember flowers more!
9// Decorate my main wall for Spring. I may be a little early but at sometime this month I'm going to need to take down my Christmas decorations, no matter how much it hurts me. This is probably going to be a goal that is fulfilled on the last day of the month!
I couldn't give up Christmas this month. I did take down my Christmas tree and most of my decorations, but I didn't change the wall behind my couch yet. I love it too much. See how I made it here!
10// Trust & Explore! I'm excited to see what 2016 has to bring!
✔️ Yes! I'm doing my best to trust in myself and travel! I love Disney and was set on going this month, and I did! I need to think of more places to explore in February.

This was a pretty successful month. While not all goals can be completed every month, it's important to set goals, or how else are you suppose to achieve them! What travel books are your favorite that I can read in February?

January Goals - 10 in 30

It's 2016!! When did that happen. I have already written 2015 multiple times and confused years when checking the calendar. Never the less, it's time to set some new goals, here we go...
1// Stretch. I'm bringing this one over from last month. There are so many studies that show how beneficial stretching is to your health, and I want to be healthy.
2// Learn how to use my wall calendar more effectively than I do now. It's both functional and a piece of art, now I need to learn how to utilize the functionality better.
3// Start planning my travels. There are so many possibilities that come with a new year. I will not start singing Rent, but I do know how many minutes are in a year from that song. I want as large of a portion as I can budget of those minutes to be spent traveling.
4// Focus on the larger picture as well as the day to day. It's easy to become consumed by the day to day monotony of life, this year I want to make sure I'm enjoying each day and also focus on the months and years from now.
5// Find and read a travel book. Maybe it will be how to travel smarter, maybe it will just be inspiring, either way I would like to learn more about my travel possibilities.
6// Be smarter with my money. If I want to travel and do all these things in 2016 I have to make sure I'm spending my money wisely.
7// Rearrange my home. When I was little and I wanted something "new" I would change how my room looked, or create something. It's a simple way that I can keep my mind fresh and help save money.
8// Flowers! If I stop eating out so much and purchase food from the grocery store, I will be saving money. Maybe some of that money can go towards fresh flowers to keep in the house!
9// Decorate my main wall for Spring. I may be a little early but at sometime this month I'm going to need to take down my Christmas decorations, no matter ho how much it hurts me. This is probably going to be a goal that is fulfilled on the last day of the month!
10// Trust & Explore! I'm excited to see what 2016 has to bring!
I've created a pretty strong pattern this month of wanting to have January be a month of saving. There are seasons in life, especially when I'm traveling, where I love to try new things and not worry about the money aspect of it. In order to have that freedom, some months have to be focused on saving and being content with what I have. My main goal for this month is to be conscious about where my money is going!

December 10 in 30 Finale

January has started, and I'm getting back into the swing of things. Time to take a last look at 2015 and see how I did.
1. Watch tons and tons of Christmas Movies!!
✔️ Complete check!! I binged on Netflix, Lifetime, ION, ABC family all the good, and not so good Christmas movies were watched this season.
2. Keep my priorities straight. It's hard sometimes, when work is stressful and you're trying so hard to do well, to remember that it's important to have a balanced life. Yes, work is important, but it isn't all that's important.
✔️ I did my best. For me, this is a constant struggle to make sure what are my highest priorities  should be my highest. It's easy to have the not so important parts of life seem like the biggest struggles.
3. Feel the cold. I'm not sure if this means a road trip, or what but I would like to feel cold at least for a little while this month.
I'm not sure anyone in the USA can check this. Some parts got cold this December, but most of the US was pretty warm. Florida today feels beautiful. I hope it stays that way for a time.
4. Catch up on my podcasts I listen to. I feel like it's been forever. It's always good to have some inspiration
✔️ With all the driving I did in December I listened to so many informative podcasts. I enjoy listening to The Lively Show. She interviews other bloggers and asks them questions about how they got to where they are and what they have learned in the process.
5. Stretch. Stretching is such an important part of health, and an aspect of it that I am very bad at. It would be nice to know some exercises to do while watching TV
I'm going to leave this unchecked because I've only started to do this within the past few days.
6. Buy Christmas presents. The past few years I keep buying presents on about the 23rd; It's not a good habit to continue.
✔️ Thank God this is a check. I would be in trouble if it wasn't.
7. Learn 5 new things. Don't quite care what they are, I just want to learn.
✔️ I learned how to paint chairs, two new songs on the ukulele, about Han Solo's son, many different routes to different parts of Florida, and that if you're going to try to go to brunch on New Years Eve or New Years Day it's important to arrive much earlier than I did.
8. Send out my Christmas Cards! I have bought them and I also have a new special addition. I just learned how to emboss!! It's so much fun!!
I ended up giving many of my presents in person, but I still have a few letters I want to send out.
9. Learn 2 songs on the Ukulele. I would like to know them without having to always look at the chords.
✔️ Yes! I also forgot I wrote this as a goal so this is still going to count for one of my "learn 5 new things" goals. I learned one from Adele and one from Ingrid Michaelson.
10. Have a Very Merry Christmas!! I absolutely love love Christmas. I can't wait for Christmas!!
✔️ I worked on Christmas day, but my Christmas was on Christmas Eve. It's nice to spend Christmas with family, even if it's only for a day!

I hope your 2015 was a wonderful year. As I look back over it, it's incredible all the moments that happened that I would never have though would when January started. As I look forward to what 2016 has in store I'm excited! Look back to learn not to dwell, and look forward with hope and anticipation!

November 10 in 30 Finale

I love love love Christmas!! I'm so excited it's only 24 days away! But let us take a quick look back over November.
1. Create a coffee section in my kitchen. I love the idea of a coffee area!
✔️ I found an old piece of wood and used it as my base. I love mixing textures
2. Find the perfect fall tea. I'm not the biggest tea drinker, but i did just buy a new diffuser and its so easy! It makes me want to drink more tea.
✔️ I found two types of tea that may not be the traditional fall tea, but they are so delicious, cold and on the go. The first is from a local tea shop, it's called Berry Bouquet. The second is from Teavana called Strawberry Grapefruit. Both have berry deliciousness and, to me, are even better cold than they are hot.
3. Buy, and wear a plum or dark red lipstick, no idea what brand.
I did wear more lipstick this month, but I did not buy a plum so I don't think this one deserves a check mark.
4. Finish reading Gung Ho. A leadership book about how to create an environment of productivity and excitement in the workplace.
I love books so much, but it's so hard to find the time to finish them.
5. See a movie in a movie theater. It has been months since I've been to a theater and there is one close by that has comfy seats and I've heard rumors of being able to order full meals from the theater!
✔️The movie theater is amazing! It's looks like the entire movie theater has large couches. I saw the final hunger games! I can't believe that was the last movie that will come out, it feels like yesterday that the first of those was premiering.
6. Cook meals ahead of time. I have a bad habit of not eating breakfast then ordering something to go and bringing it home. For both my pocketbook and my physical health I want to cook from home. At least a few meals!
✔️ I'm going to keep it honest and not say that I cooked all meals, but I did cook some. I also went to the grocery store and bought the frozen meals, so at least I'm getting somewhere. And then sometimes at the end of a day, you just want to go and eat some ice cream!
7. Explore! I want to see more of my area!
✔️ This one can never been a true check mark, because when can you really ever say you're done exploring...never! But I did venture to new places this month.
8. Find chairs for my porch! I really want to have a place to sit outside, especially once it starts to cool down! I really would want the French style chairs, but we shall see.
✔️ This is my most exciting DIY of the month. More to come
9. Visit the Salvador Dali Museum. There is on in Tampa, Florida that I have been wanting to go to!
✔️ The new building is beautiful!! They also had a bonus Escher exhibit!
10. Have a good Thanksgiving!!
✔️ Family came to visit, that always makes holidays more real. I did work, but it was wonderful and filled with lots of food; I have the sea of aluminum in my fridge right now.
I hope your November was wonderful! And now....cue the Christmas music!!

November 10 in 30

"It's the most wonderful time.." just kidding, but seriously though, poor Thanksgiving for always getting ran over by Christmas. Christmas is my favorite time of the year, but November has its own good points. 85 degrees isn't fun in November, but Thanksgiving is worth it. Here's what's on my list.
1. Create a coffee section in my kitchen. I love the idea of a coffee area!
2. Find the perfect fall tea. I'm not the biggest tea drinker, but i did just buy a new diffuser and its so easy! It makes me want to drink more tea.
Sweater Weather - Beautiful hair. Get the look with Remy Clips clip in hair extensions. www.remyclips.com:
I want to be her, with darker lips!

3. Buy, and wear a plum or dark red lipstick, no idea what brand.
4. Finish reading Gung Ho. A leadership book about how to create an environment of productivity and excitement in the workplace.
Here's your first look at Daniel Craig and Christoph Waltz in the latest 007 blockbuster.:
I want to see it!

5. See a movie in a movie theater. It has been months since I've been to a theater and there is one close by that has comfy seats and I've heard rumors of being able to order full meals from the theater!
6. Cook meals ahead of time. I have a bad habit of not eating breakfast then ordering something to go and bringing it home. For both my pocketbook and my physical health I want to cook from home. At least a few meals!

October 10 in 30 Finale

This month was filled with many ups and downs, but overall I'm grateful to be where I am and excited to see what the last few months of 2015 have in store.
1. Finish moving in, changing places can be difficult but also fun because it comes with all new possibilities.
✔️The struggle is real!! There is a lot of work, emotional and  physical, that goes into moving to a new place. Then moving when you don't know anyone, it's difficult. I love my place though! I'm finally getting all of my items where I want them!
2. More Travel. Details and pictures to come, right now the only clue is....up up and away!
✔️This month I went to New Mexico for Balloon Fiesta and it was unbelievable! I've never seen a hot air balloon that close before, and then to see that many at once was a great way to be overwhelmed. So much fun. So much green chili was consumed.
3. Find a place to read, there are so many places to be explored.Wishing the above was my reading nook! I want to find a place to go to and read.
✔️ I did this on accident. I was going to get food, surprise, surprise, and I stumbled upon a beautiful area with tables and twinkling lights, kismet!  I want something like this for my balcony though.
would really like chairs like these & the table too..but, maybe a slightly bigger, even square, table that I could collapse and use in kitchen, living room & on my landing outside.:
4. Go to the beach before it gets too cold to go. I want this season to be a cold one, but I also want to use my resources wisely and go to the beach before it's no longer an option.
I went to the desert instead, oops.
5. Find more avocado recipes. I've been on an avocado kick, and I need to find more ways to use it.
Many an avocado was eaten, but no recipes were made.
6. Figure out how to set up my cable. I'm pretty sure they didn't give me all the cords needed. Now I have to go back to the store, boo.
✔️ YES!! Thank God!! Cable is up and running, and my Netflix account is hooked up to the TV. All is right with the world, kidding, but seriously.
7. Decorate my bookcases. aka Pinterest bookcase organization.
✔️ They look very "Fall" right now. I love them. I posted a picture on my Instagram, link on the left sidebar.
8. Catch up on The Walking Dead before I'm way to behind to watch the season that I'm pretty sure is either starting soon, or has started already.
No, I didn't and I saw all the spoilers up on Facebook!!! I'm sad and upset, but also want to watch it to see what actually happened. Seeing all the gifs is just not the same.
9. Find easy hairstyles I can try for work. I need new ideas to try out. This may not be appropriate for work, but I keep really loving this hairstyle recently, I'm just not sure if I can pull it off.
1/2 ✔️ I tried a few hairstyles, including the half up half down. I liked them, but I really feel like I'm waiting for my hair to grow!! Below is from my Pinterest
Whether you’re a veteran in the art of fishtail braiding or can barely twist a bun, these fast and simple tutorials will get you out the door on time for your morning meeting.:
10. Bake something with pumpkin. Tis' the pumpkin season! Maybe I'll make pumpkin muffins. Either that sounds like a really great idea to make and take for breakfast, or maybe I'm just hungry, or both.
I drank a Pumpkin Spice Latte or two but did not cook anything with pumpkin, maybe next month!

How was your October?

April 10 in 30 Finale

I loved April!!! So many good memories and stories were had this past month. Let's see how I did as far as my month goals...also, how perfect was the Rifel Paper Co. calendar for April!

1. Finalize all my plans for ENGLAND!! ✔️ I loved London!! I'll explain more in my next post.
2. Find a way to pack all of my things in one carry on and still have room to purchase items. ✔️ I did it. I wore my heaviest jacket and my boots through the Orlando airport like a crazy person, but it worked!
3. Buy new tires for my car. I bought a "new to me" car and it needs new tires. The car in general is good, but it needs some mechanical type updates. ✔️ I technically bought tires in May, but I still bought them so I'm calling this a win.
4. Make sure all of my work items are preped for when I leave. I have a few projects I'm working on and they all need to be done by the time I leave. ✔️ I am very impressed with myself so far. All of my projects were finished and all bills paid before I left.
From my instagram
5. Maybe get my hair cut in ENGLAND! I got my hair cut, but not in England. Looking back, although the price would have been high I wish I had gotten it cut over there. Next time I'll just jump in and cut it.
6. Call all the necessary places and let them know I will be out of the country and to not stop me from buying shoes, or calling people. ✔️ Yes! I waited on everything until the last minute but I did call my bank, my phone, and registered my passport in time.
7. Journal more in my Bible. I was doing so well there for a little bit and then stress got in the way *shakes fist* #epicfail
8. Buy flowers at a outdoor market in England or Paris!! I never actually bought a bouquet of flowers, but I did get to see the blossoms in Paris and England. So pretty!
9. Buy rain boots, I wan just a normal pair of rain boots that can go with everything! I didn't buy any, and it didn't rain a single day! WIN!
10. Have an amazing month! ✔️✔️✔️ All the check marks!
How was your April? If you do a 10 in 30 link me and I'll follow along :)

April 10 in 30

Happy Easter all!!! This month is the month in this year that I'm most excited for, so far. I'm going to my first ever music festival and then I'm going on vacation to ENGLAND!! I'm so excited!! My goals this month are all basically geared towards relaxing and vacation, plus a little work in there.
@Amber Fults feel mean just repinning this, but it would be lovely to go see Big Ben in person and go to The Doctor Who experience
1. Finalize all my plans for ENGLAND!! All the capital letters, because I'm so excited!
2. Find a way to pack all of my things in one carry on and still have room to purchase items.
3. Buy new tires for my car. I bought a "new to me" car and it needs new tires. The car in general is good, but it needs some mechanical type updates.
4. Make sure all of my work items are preped for when I leave. I have a few projects I'm working on and they all need to be done by the time I leave.
I've tried doing this and the color just never seems to look this effortless and natural. Willing to try it again though.
Maybe? Probably a little longer
5. Maybe get my hair cut in ENGLAND! Ok, I'll stop doing the all caps now. I'm creating a pattern of getting my hair cut on vacation. It's kind of fun to say all the places I've gotten my hair cut. Random, but fun to do on vacation. Vacations are suppose to be pampering and fun anyways right?
6. Call all the necessary places and let them know I will be out of the country and to not stop me from buying shoes, or calling people. I like that the bank is so secure that it sees when something looks off in my spending, but I hate being at a place out of the state and they stop me from buying the item I want from a shop. It's me I promise!
7. Journal more in my Bible. I was doing so well there for a little bit and then stress got in the way *shakes fist*
All images via my pinterest
8. Buy flowers at a outdoor market in England or Paris!! (Seriously excited just to write that down)
9. Buy rain boots, I wan just a normal pair of rain boots that can go with everything!
10. Have an amazing month!
What are your goals this month? If you do a 10 in 30 link me and I'll follow along :)

December 10 in 30 Final

January 2015! When did that happen? There is so much I learned from last year, but I'm glad to have a new start. Here is how the last month of 2014 went...
1. Decorate like a crazy person! ✔️ So much so that I still haven't the heart to take down the decorations. Holidays fly by too fast.
Everyone is making New Year's Resolutions, and I'm over here eating left-over Christmas cookies.
2. Make a wreath. ✔️ Tada! It's so simple. Who would have thought. See how I made my wreath.
3. Write things down. Getting there. I bought a planner and I'm looking up unique ways to journal. I miss it
4. Make a plan for vacationing. Getting there as well. I know what month I want to go. If anyone has tips on England or traveling there let me know! That's the location I want to go to! There and France.
london
5. Wear my sweaters It's been so hot over Christmas. There have been a few days that have been cold enough. And I went Ice skating so that was definitely cold enough in there.
6. Christmas shop early. Oh Joy of the past how naive you are. There are still a few people who I haven't bought for yet. I laugh at your optimism...kindly, but still laughing.
Nobody liked caroling with Yoda. | Star Wars Christmas
7. Write Christmas Cards. ✔️ Speaking of Typography one of my Christmas presents this year was the travel Rifel Paper Co. 2015 calendar. Love it!!
8. Drink coffee in at least 4 new places. ✔️ Coffee, always a good decision! Check it out on my Instagram
9. Worry less - Trust more! ✔️ Constantly trying to trust more! Never fully complete but also never giving up on what's important.
10. Have a Merry Christmas! ✔️ Still love this picture! I got to go home; so it was a good Christmas!

Fall Goals

There's something about fall. More than any other time of year, there is something about fall that makes me feel like I can start again. When the weather finally starts becoming cooler in Florida, that's when I come alive. I love summer as much as the next person.
However, in the fall and winter, my heart is so happy. I live in Florida so it obviously makes sense why I have 34 sweaters in my closet, ya I know. So excited for fall!! A few of the fall feelings I'm most excited for...
Ankle boots + cuffed jeans.
Boots and Jeans
